God's Singers

What if a choir can actually be "RELEVANT" in today's church? What if a young choir CAN effectively sing with a rock band? What if the choir can make a positive difference in a congregation's worship? What if we're doing exactly the WRONG thing by dismantling choirs everywhere? What if there's a better way to DO the choir than the way we've been doing it for 60 years? These questions and the fifteen-year quest to discover their answers are the driving force behind the publishing of this vibrant new study. This study seeks to answer the questions above and many more, through significant biblical research and the crucible of hands-on application in thousands of settings, both contemporary and classic. This study, born out of a lifetime of worship ministry and the challenge of rediscovering the choir's "relevance" in several contemporary congregations, is a new offering from Dave Williamson. In it you will discover the what, why and how of building a Worship Leading Choir - one that can make a palpable difference in the worship life of just about any congregation. From the ground up, if necessary.

It Could Happen Tomorrow

While speculation abounds regarding end time events, Gary Frazier has opened our eyes and hearts to see through the lens of scripture that God has a plan. This book will encourage you to look up, listen up and live upward for Christ s coming is near!

Mom to Mom

These materials are rooted in foundational Biblical principles. Author Linda Anderson drew from her academic and professional experience as an educator, from countless books, articles, and interviews on parenting, and from "mom" experience — her own and the stories of hundreds of moms she knows and interacts with on a regular basis. The curriculum has been "market-tested" by hundreds of mothers during the past nine years.

Unshakable Faith

Jesus called this ordinary man for an extraordinary purpose. Simon the fisherman would become Peter the Rock. This outspoken Galilean would lead Christ’s church, stand strong in the face of persecution, and even refuse to waver when faced with death.

Unshakable Faith is an eight-session Bible study that explores the life and teachings of the Apostle Peter. Participants will be eye witnesses to Peter’s spiritual growth as God strengthens and matures his fragile faith. They will discover eight key "faith traits" God developed in Peter as he followed Christ and learned from Him.

Participants will walk with Peter as he walked with Jesus. They will learn what Peter learned. Then they’ll be challenged to apply it to their own lives. Study participants will not only gain a solid knowledge of Peter’s life and teaching, they will also build a foundation on which God can grow an unshakable faith that will weather every storm they encounter.

Beloved Disciple

"Every disciple and early follower of Christ left a legacy for future believers. John's legacy was love. Perhaps like no other disciple, John understood that relationship is the point. Every command of Christ and call to obedience is to enhance relationship and place the recipient in a posture the Giver can bless. This study is about finding our way to the heart of Jesus and reclining so closely that our pulse begins to throb in tandem, loving what He loves and hating what He hates."

Financial Peace University

More than one million families have attended Financial Peace University with amazing results. On average, these families paid off $5,300 in debt and saved $2,700 in just the first 90 days! Stop worrying about money, and start your journey to Financial Peace today.

Stepping Up

Takes a look at the pilgrimage theme found in Psalms 120 134 and explores the major feasts of Israel. For the ancient Israelites, pilgrimage was a three-times-per-year journey to the temple in Jerusalem; for New Testament believers all of life becomes a journey together toward the new Jerusalem.

Twisting the Truth

Unraveling the Lies That Twist Our Lives In six insight-packed sessions, Andy Stanley exposes four destructive and all-too-prevalent lies about authority, pain, sex, and sin. They're deceptions powerful enough to ruin our relationships, our lives, even our eternities---but only if we let them. Including both a small group DVD and participant's guide that work together, Twisting the Truth untwists the lies that can drag us down. With his gift for straight, to-the-heart communication, Andy Stanley helps us exchange falsehoods for truths that can turn our lives completely around.

Pregnancy Center Ministry

More Info

The Center for Pregnancy is a non-profit ministry supported by local churches and individuals.  It is located in Friendswood, Texas and serves the entire Bay Area.  The Center provides an environment of acceptance and warmth with the goal of making an unplanned pregnancy in a woman's life as easy as possible to face.

Since the Supreme Court decision of Roe v. Wade in 1973, which legalized abortion on demand, almost 40 million babies have lost their lives through abortion in our country.  The Center for Pregnancy believes in the worth and dignity of every individual, including the unborn child.  Studies have proven that by eight weeks of age, an infant , at little more than an inch long, has all major organs in place and working.  Medical studies have well documented the fact that life begins at conception.

Discovery of an unexpected pregnancy can be a time when a woman may feel a variety of emotions, ranging from fear and panic to worried and overwhelmed.  Abortion is the solution offered by many for women experiencing a crisis pregnancy.  Research reveals, however, that women often suffer physical and /or psychological damage that can be linked to their abortion.  Often women who find themselves in a crisis preganancy feel there is no other solution to their problem.  They believe they have no other alternative to help provide for them or their unborn children.  More than 90% of the women who have had abortions say they would not have done so if they had been better informed about child development in the womb and about abortion procedures.

The Center for Pregnancy offers the alternatives and the help needed so that women may choose life for their babies and themselves.

Here's how Shadycrest Baptist Church members can help:

  • Support the collection of baby bottles from Mother's Day to Father's Day.
  • Attend the Pregnancy Center Workday on Friday, May 13 from 9-12
